Closed Action: Help Protect The UK’s Laying Hens

The British egg industry is considering major re-investment into cage-free systems.

We asked you to write to the Defra Minister, Michael Gove, to help the egg industry make the right choice for laying hen welfare. The response to from our supporters has been phenomenal – over 20,000 compassionate people have called on Defra to set a good minimum industry standard for British and imported eggs. With your support, our Food Business team will continue to encourage industry stakeholders to invest in a sustainable cage-free future. We will keep fighting to ensure all hens get the space and environment they need to flap, scratch, dust-bathe and roam, whether in the UK, or those producing the eggs which we import.
