Closed Action: Brexit Deal Could Stop Us Ending Live Exports

One small sentence in the proposed Brexit withdrawal deal could have prevented any ban on live exports, leading to the ongoing suffering of thousands of British sheep and young calves.

We asked you to contact Michael Gove, Defra’s then Secretary of State, to amend the deal, to ensure it would allow the UK to stop live exports for fattening and slaughter. Over 21,000 compassionate people emailed Michael Gove to demand an amendment.

In early 2019, Boris Johnson highlighted the horrors of live exports in a column for The Sun, demonstrating the impact of our campaigning efforts in raising awareness at the highest levels of Government.

With your support, our policy and campaigns team will continue to fight to ensure a total ban on live exports from the UK. Please call your MP to support a live export ban. Find out about our current campaigns and other online actions you can take and explore other ways to get involved.
