Pig in poor conditions living in cage

We need your help

Email the secretary of state

It’s time for the UK Government to honour their pledge to consult on the use of crates and cages for farmed animals.

Please email the Secretary of State at the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) to reinstate the promised consultation on ending cages for farmed animals.

Think British farm animals aren’t kept in cages? Wrong – millions of the UK's farm animals are subjected to cage cruelty.

On 12th December last year, we delivered your petition of almost 400,000 signatures that called on all the Governments across the UK to End the Cage Age for farmed animals.

Despite stating in Summer 2022 that consultations would be published shortly, they have done nothing to progress the phasing out crates and cages.

Please email Rt Hon Steve Barclay MP today to tell him that you think it’s unacceptable for the Government not to take action to improve farmed animal welfare.

In a few minutes of your time, you can send this pre-drafted email to him and keep up the fight to End the Cage Age for farmed animals.
