Sorry, this action is now closed. Thousands of our Compassion supporters sent an e-card to the Secretary of State, demanding a ban on live exports. The Animal Welfare (Kept Animals Bill) which would ban live exports from Great Britain for slaughter and fattening was stalled, and the Government have failed to take any meaningful action as they promised.

In October 2022, Compassion in World Farming supporters were instrumental in helping to achieve over 100,000 signatures on a petition on the UK Parliament website, calling on the Government to make parliamentary time to progress the Kept Animals Bill. As a result, the petition was debated by MPs, with many of them mentioning the number of messages they received from constituents in support of the Bill. The Government Minister, when responding to the debate, confirmed that the Bill will proceed, “as soon as we have parliamentary time that will allow us to move forward”. However, this is the answer that has been given for many months and we still have no definite timeline was given for the passing of the Bill.

Thank you for your unwavering support for factory farmed animals.
