Thank you for your interest in protecting animals from unethical gene editing. This action is now closed, but if you’d like to take further steps for farm animals please visit our Campaigns page.

The Genetic Technology (Precision Breeding) Bill has now passed all stages in the House of Commons. Following thousands of emails from Compassion supporters, there was strong Opposition support for amendments that would have stopped gene editing from amplifying animal cruelty. But the Government opposed all these changes, so the Bill was passed by MPs unaltered. We’ll be working hard to try to reintroduce these amendments as the legislation progresses through the House of Lords. Thank you again for your concern about this important issue.
