Stop the Trucks: Take action on EU live transport

Live exports to Turkey

Every year, millions of European animals suffer during long distance live transport. They are confined for days or even weeks in overcrowded trucks or ships, often enduring extreme temperatures, with very little food and water and with legally required rest stops frequently ignored.

The transport of live animals is cruel, unnecessary and must end. So, following positive action by the governments of Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark – subsequently supported by Sweden – a Europe-wide coalition has joined together to Stop the Trucks.

As part of this coalition, Compassion is calling on the governments of the remaining EU Member States to join the call for changes to European law on animal welfare during transport.

Will you take a moment to add your name to a message to Agriculture Ministers in the remaining 24 EU countries?

Thank you for your support for this vital issue. Together we will stop the long distance transport of live farm animals.

STOP THE TRUCKS

Call on 24 EU Agriculture Ministers to support changes to the law on animal welfare during transport.

A copy of this letter and total signatories will be sent to each Minister. Where appropriate we may also provide Ministers with a list of signatories in their Member State.
